Used trucks

The end of the 2025 year did not bring any further improvement in the mood on the truck market. Positive signals regarding demand in September and October gave cause for optimism, but November turned out to be worse in this respect.

The used vehicle market has been volatile for some time. Particular months bring increased traffic at dealerships, followed by a period of declining interest in vehicles. Hopes for a sustained recovery in demand are not being fulfilled. This reflects the difficult situation of hauliers who, despite the economic upturn in transport, continue to face low rates and fierce competition. Small hauliers, who are sensitive to cost fluctuations and are going out of business, are slowly disappearing from the market and being replaced by large fleets.

Used cars are selling slowly, with the youngest tractor units with low mileage being the most popular, but such vehicles are becoming scarce on the market and are fetching high prices in Western Europe. This is due to the limited replacement of vehicles that were purchased in the post-pandemic period, but due to low mileage and economic problems, carriers are not replacing them on a regular basis. In addition, new series of vehicles, especially those that meet Euro VIe standard and face numerous technical problems, are extremely expensive to maintain and pose a problem in remarketing. In this complex puzzle, carriers are looking for vehicles with low mileage and proven quality.

Used truck stocks

The trend continues, with a steady decline in the number of offers. This means that limited demand is met with lower supply, which should have a positive impact on maintaining value on the secondary market. However, the scale of the decline in the number of offers, by over 20% year-on-year, is surprising.

New trucks

The situation on the new vehicle market looks better. Registrations in Poland increased by 6.7% throughout 2025, to 29,979 units. This represents a very slow recovery of the market after a decline of as much as 21% y/y in 2024. Apart from the pandemic period, when the number of truck registrations regularly exceeded 30,000 units, the level in previous years was close to 30,000 units. It can therefore be considered a natural market size. Despite the complicated market situation, the recovery in new car sales is a positive sign for the mood of transport companies. There is also a visible stabilisation in monthly registration figures in Poland. Other large markets are recording declines in total registrations, with Germany down 14.6% (up to and including November) and France down 9.9% (throughout 2025).
